A performance-poem developed in collaboration with psychoanalyst and writer María Alejandra Márquez, Another is an attempt to portray the absence and presence of otherness. It evolves in a precarious environment in which performative elements are placed while leaving a crucial space for individual identifications. One is always looking for another, another identity, another construction of the self, and this promise keeps us moving. What if I was someone else? What if I had another face, other problems, other ideas, other desires?
Every time the performer sits she becomes another person, every time we spin we shift… yet endless reinvention is never enough to cover an environmental clause: the illusory of otherness upon undeniable nothingness.
